Have you wanted to understand better what Scripture says about women in ministry? What was God’s intent when he created women from the very beginning? Are women allowed to preach? What’s the deal with head coverings? These were the questions sent to us on Instagram recently around women in ministry. This week’s podcast features Hillary Leeper, a Biblical and Theology Studies professor at North Central University. In this episode, Hillary offers in-depth discussion and thoughtful responses to many of today’s burning questions about gender and authority in the Bible.

Drawing on her own experience as a woman passionate about using her Spirit-given giftings, Hillary shares her journey of overcoming challenges in her role, discusses how to interpret variants in Scripture, and how to understand the context. She encourages us to acknowledge our tendency to search scriptures through our cultural context, which doesn’t always line up with the model used in the first-century church. You might want to have a notebook next to you as you listen to jot down insight and scriptures for further reading.
